[MEI-L] Question about mRest, dur and dots in MEI 3 and 4

I am wondering what would happen if in place of the mRest, the relevant
bars simply encoded two rests, one after the next.
It seems to be valid MEI 4.0 according to MEI Friend and Atom.
<rest dur="breve" xml:id="m-2475"/>
<rest dur="1" xml:id="m-24751000"/>
