Dear colleagues,
please let me inform you about the course program and registration deadline (31 July 2014) of this year's Edirom-Summer-School (ESS), which will take place 8 to 12 September 2014 at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (University of Paderborn, Germany). ESS is co-organized by the Virtual Research Group Edirom (University of Paderborn) and the german eHumanities project DARIAH-DE.
The scope of courses (mostly held in german) reaches from introductions to the DARIAH-DE Infrastructure, to Concepts of Digital Music Editions and to the markup standards of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) respectively the Music Encoding Initiative (MEI), across working with software tools for editorial purposes (Edirom Tools), up to courses dealing with more advanced topics in these fields like the rendering of MEI encodings. This year two courses will be especially held in english language (MEI Introduction and Rendering MEI). The Edirom User Forum will provide time to get in touch with music edition projects using the Edirom Tools.
Students can apply for one student bursary provided by the EADH's Small Grants Program (http://eadh.org) to support ESS attendance. Details about application, ESS course program and registration can be found on the ESS-Website: http://ess.upb.de.
