Yes, of course! I just hadn't thought of having several titles within pghead.
Thanks to you both, and please forgive me for asking stupid questions sometimes!

I think in this case you have to make a difference between what's on the page and how you're going to use it. If you want to capture the written text, you use one pghead which contains two titles and a linebreak:

<pghead1>
	<title xml:lang="dk">.danish title.</title>
	<lb/>
	<title xml:lang="dk">.german title.</title>
</pghead1>

(this of course depends on the actual layout!)

If you want to use this in your metadata you can do the same: just add a second title with a different xml:lang. Is there something I've missed, or is this a valid solution for your problem?

Best regards to København,
Johannes

Gade, for instance, provided titles in both Danish and German for many of his works). Would it be reasonable to allow multiple <pghead1> elements with different language attributes? As it is, only one <pghead1> is allowed in each <scoredef>. I understand why, of course, but in this case it seems a bit too restrictive.

How should I model the relation between, say, some incidental music, encoded in one MEI file, and some excerpt or arrangement encoded in another MEI file?
> I noticed that one of the relations possible in <relatedItem> is "otherVersion". That's exactly what I was looking for, except that it needs to be on a higher level than <source> (because it relates to all the sources to this particular version). One solution could be using <extptr>; something like
