[MEI-L] Note about Detmold Meeting for US participants

Hi Eleanor and other US participants - I agree that the prices may be somewhat higher but I am afraid it is a requirement we cannot get out of. I should have included the price limits in the last e-mail - we all have up to $1500 for our airfare. If you find travel within this limit impossible please let me know and I will see what I can do.

NEH must realize that US carriers drive up the price, but it's better for me (unless the flight is cancalled, which it seems to be about half the time out-of-season).

I won't be looking into it for a month or so, because I'm currently abroad and don't trust the computer security.

sorry for the delay of this message, but we're still waiting for an
organisational answer from the DFG. However, in order to get rid of
the uncertainty regarding the date of our next meeting, we have
decided to have our next meeting in Detmold on

March 15 - 17, 2010

(Monday till Wednesday). We haven't determined a detailed schedule
yet, but the plan is that US participants start their (overnight-)
flight on Friday and have an accommodation in Detmold from Saturday
evening till Thursday morning. The idea is to give an opportunity to
recover from jetlag prior to the meeting. We know that these dates are
far from being optimal for some of you, but they're the best
compromise at the moment, and we hope that you can make these dates
possible somehow.

We will keep you informed about further details as soon as possible.
