[mei-catalog-ig] Metadata and cataloging IG meeting in Tours

Dear Axel,

just a few hours before your mail arrived (thanks!) we shortly discussed
about the SIG meeting in Tours with Kristina and Johannes: You know that
we had been planning a Metadata Workshop at the Mainz Academy of
Sciences for last november which had to be postponed and was cancelled
for 2016. But the plan is now to have this workshop in autumn 2017 - so
we thought it would be a good opportunity to at least plan the details
for this workshop in Tours: topics, presentations, participants etc.

I think that this planning meeting will not take more than one or two
hours (maximum!) but it would be very helpful to leave the conference
with a fixed schedule for this meeting which will certainly cause new
discussions about some details in the head(er) (of MEI...).

Best greetings from Detmold,
Joachim

> I know there has been very little activity on the mailing list since we met in Montreal. None, actually. Also, work on the "metadata manual" has not progressed as promised. That is definitely my fault to a great extent, for which I sincerely apologize.

If not, I am tempted to skip the group meeting this year and postpone it to next year if needed. Of course, we could also meet just to inform each other briefly about the progress of our current projects.

On the contrary, I suspect that the MEI header has now reached a level of maturity and scope that satisfies most projects at this time. In Copenhagen at least we are now concentrated on the production of (meta-)data rather than the development of the schema and how to work with it.

As you will see, we announced the release of a new version of MerMEId supporting the MEI 3.0.0 schema a couple of weeks ago.
