[MEI-L] MEI 6.0 Release Plan

Dear all,

We would like to share with you the Release Plan for MEI 6.0, presented at the last Community Meeting.

We will have a few pre-releases detailed in the following list of milestones (the listed milestones match those included in GitHub).

Open GitHub issues will be removed from the MEI 6 milestones (listed below) under the following criteria:

No associated pull request
No conclusive discussion
No final decision
Exceptions:

Severe bugs
Pre-release specifics declared below
Pre-release dates and milestone details

MEI 6.0-0+featureFreeze (June 25th)

Last chance for changes to the schema.

GitHub issues will be removed from MEI 6 milestones according to the criteria presented above, except when they are associated exclusively with the guidelines, the build process, or presentation (e.g., online appearance and interaction), as these will be addressed in the following pre-releases.

MEI 6.0-1+meiODDs (July 31st)

Focus:

Introduce updated schema for MEI ODDs files.
Introduce Guidelines for this schema.
Last chance for changes associated with the guidelines.

GitHub issues will be removed from the MEI 6 milestones (see criteria above) except when they are associated exclusively with the build process and/or presentation, as these will be addressed in the following pre-releases.

MEI 6.0-2+pureODD (November 27th)

Focus:

Convert current RelaxNG schema definitions to pureODD (aka TEI).
Last chance for changes associated with the build process.

GitHub issues will be removed from the MEI 6 milestones (see criteria above) except when they are associated exclusively with presentation, as these will be addressed in the following pre-release.

MEI 6.0-3+presentation (currently undated)

Focus:

Build process.
Appearance of the Guidelines in PDF and online.
Technical documentation in the repository.
Code appearance and editing support.
Last chance for changes associated with presentation.

GitHub issues will be removed from the MEI 6 milestones (see criteria above). We will work on the guidelines presentation, specifically, access to schema customisations.
