Dear List,

If you know of anyone who might be suitable, do encourage them to apply. I
would emphasize that it will not be necessary for the person we hire to
relocate to Birmingham -- the duties can easily be carried out remotely --
and indeed it is much simpler if someone who does not already have the
right to work in the UK remains abroad.
We are looking for someone with a solid background in coding and
familiarity with MEI; acquaintance with pre-1600 music is desirable (better
still, pre-1500) but not essential, likewise machine learning. The
appointment is at the level of Research Fellow (equivalent to Lecturer in
the UK, Assistant Professor in North America) at 0.6 FTE (3 days a week)
until the end of the project on 30 September 2021. The deadline for
application is 17 January 2020.
