Dear list members,

summer time is time for our next Edirom-Summer-School (ESS2015) which will take place in Paderborn/Germany from 7.-11. September. This is your chance to register (http://ess.upb.de/2015/registrierung.html <http://ess.upb.de/2015/registrierung.html>) for at least three directly MEI related workshops hosted by some of our well-known MEI specialists on the list.

First, there will be our MEI Introduction (in German) with Maja Hartwig and Kristina Richts who will induct you into the basic secrets of encoding music content and metadata in MEI.

Are you especially interested in MEI's capabilities in the field of metadata? Then you can register for our advanced MEI Metadata workshop (also in German) with Kristina Richts and Axel Teich Geertinger who will guide you through the many and varied ways of storing metadata in MEI for purposes like long time preservation, source description and/or cataloguing with MerMEId.

Do you already have MEI content and do you want to start doing "something" with this as a tool developer? Then please look at our MEI Tool Development workshop (in English!) with Andrew Hankinson (McGill, CA), Laurent Pugin (RISM CH) and Johannes Kepper (UPB). They will present some of the most promising MEI software libraries and renderers developed in different projects and give you hints in hands-on sessions on how to facilitate them in your own tool ideas.

There are many more interesting workshops within our ESS2015 program. You can learn about our Edirom Tools, TEI and ODD, about advanced working methods with XML data and eXist-db tool development.

We also provide one expert workshop about (mostly german) legal issues when using and producing digital data in research and edition projects. Finally, there will be a workshop about different organizational and technical aspects in planing and realizing a digital edition project.

Please find further information about the ESS2015's program schedule and registration on our website at http://ess.upb.de.

In case of any questions about the ESS2015, please feel free to contact the organization team at ess at edirom.de.

We hope to see you in September in Paderborn!

For the ESS2015 organization team
