[MEI-L] MEI and Libraries

[Vaughan Hennen]

Ms. Richts,

When MEI encodes cataloging information, is the purpose to have an
interconnected database, or is the purpose to have an encoded record for
the work?

The Carl Neilson example is significant because it is 1. encoded and 2.
creates an encoded record that is more thorough than most other cataloging
records.  Is this correct?
