[MEI-L] File extensions

I was using it more as an illustration than a suggestion. I brought the extension topic up because I look at these being our options for mime type settings:

application/xml .xml -> Straightforward, generic, but what if you have a consumer that can take MEI files directly? We have notation software that can serve MEI XML, so it would be nice if we can take advantage of the mime types here.

application/vnd.mei+xml .xml -> Mapping .xml to the MEI mime type seems like a big problem.

application/vnd.mei+xml .mei -> Seems like the best solution, yes?

(the MEI mime type I give is just an example).

Since it is in the application hierarchy it requires an RFC and some negotiations with IESG and IETF before one get a line in the appropriate IANA document.
