Dear Catalog IG

It probably doesn't surprise you that our annual IG meeting will take place in Montreal. I suggest we meet Friday 20 May at 10:00 am after the MEI Community Meeting.

At our first meeting last year in Florence we decided to write a document discussing some of the approaches and concepts for using MEI for catalogs of various kinds. I am sad to say that I haven't written much yet due to lack of time. I sincerely apologize! Nevertheless, we have made a start, and I hope that you will have the time to take a look at the document before we meet. I suggest we discuss it there. The document is found at

I have tried to roughly follow the table of contents drafted at an early stage, but the final document may be structured differently. Please feel free to contribute, comment etc.

As you may have heard, the Detmold Court Theatre cataloging workshop with Irmlind Capelle and Kristina Richts announced for Tuesday has been cancelled. Instead, there will be a presentation/discussion of the project as part of our IG meeting.

I also suggest that we follow up on the discussions on this list during the past year, that is, the schema changes to be expected in the MEI header.

Finally, I intend to inform about the latest developments in our cataloging software (MerMEId).

Any other topics related to MEI and cataloging are very welcome, of course.
