[fg-arc] Fully Funded PhD Position: Multimodal AI/ML Models for Early Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis

The Petanux GmbH in collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and Fraunhofer SCAI, is offering a PhD position focused on developing and evaluating multimodal AI/ML models to predict individual risk of developing Parkinson's Disease (PD). This research aims to integrate various data types—including genomic data, prior diagnoses, medications, and lifestyle factors—to assess their relative contributions to PD risk. The project emphasizes model explainability and causality, utilizing techniques such as Explainable AI (XAI) and causal machine learning methods. The PhD position is fully funded under the AIS project of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) program, in collaboration with renowned Universities and SMEs across Europe.

The successful candidate will be enrolled at the University of Luxembourg, with the program commencing in October 2025 and spanning 36 months. Planned secondments include 18 months at Petanux to gain expertise in AI/ML and at Fraunhofer SCAI to learn about causal AI/ML techniques.  For detailed information and application procedures,
