<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We are very happy to announce plans for the Virtual Music Encoding Conference (V-MEC), which will be held on May 26-29 during the time originally scheduled for the Music Encoding Conference. The conference

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">a day of virtual workshops on May 26<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">two days of presentations on May 27-28, each one led by a virtual keynote<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">the MEC members’ meeting<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">self-organized meetings of interest groups on May 28 and 29<o:p></o:p></span></li></ul>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The opening keynote presentation on May 27 will be by Timothy Duguid (University of Glasgow), and the closing keynote on May 28 will be by Estelle Joubert (Dalhousie University). Following each keynote presentation,
we’ll hold a virtual “slam” session with 3-minute presentations, followed by a breakout session where participants can ask questions, discuss individual presentations in smaller groups, and mingle virtually. Papers will be pre-circulated to enable wider access
and more substantive discussion. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">While we’ll miss seeing each other in person, we hope this format will offer a great opportunity for exchange of ideas. We’re very grateful to our keynote speakers, workshop organizers, and paper and poster
