<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">In particular, we would like to invite you to the festive opening of the conference and the first keynote speech in the historic Festsaal of the Academy of Sciences. The auditorium of the University of Vienna (now the Festsaal) was one of the most important concert halls in Vienna around 1800. Beethoven conducted the world premiere of his 7th Symphony and his symphonic battle painting "Wellington's Victory" here on December 8 and 12, 1813. In addition, the 'mechanical trumpeter' of the inventor Johann Nepomuk Mälzel made a spectacular performance. The event begins at 7 pm. After the keynote there will be a reception in the Aula of the Academy.
