<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">1) <b>Early bird</b> <b>registration</b> is still possible until the end of March (<span class="MsoHyperlink" style="color:#0563c1"><span style="text-decoration:underline"><a href="https://www.conftool.net/music-encoding2019/" style="color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline">https://www.conftool.net/music-encoding2019/</a></span></span> ).</span></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">2) Some <b>workshops</b> of the pre-conference day are almost <b>fully booked</b>. You should hurry! Once the maximum number of participants of 20 each has been reached, registration for the WS via Conftool is no longer possible. If you want to be added to the waiting list, please send us an e-mail.</span></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">3) The conference will award <b>travel grants to students</b> with appropriate expertise. The bursaries will partially cover the costs of registration, travel and accommodation. <p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">4) Changes to the title or the description of posters, panels or lectures are no longer possible in Conftool. In exceptional cases, you can notify us of changes by e-mail.</span></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">5) In the afternoon of the un-conference day (Saturday 1 June), our cooperation partner <span class="MsoHyperlink" style="color:#0563c1"><span style="text-decoration:underline"><a href="https://read.transkribus.eu/transkribus/" style="color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline">READ Project</a></span></span> will present the <b>Transkribus app</b> in a workshop. <span class="MsoHyperlink" style="color:#0563c1"><span style="text-decoration:underline"><a href="https://transkribus.eu/Transkribus/" style="color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline" target="_blank">Transkribus</a></span></span> is a comprehensive platform for the automated recognition, transcription and searching of historical documents. The main objective of Transkribus is to support users like humanities scholars, archivists, volunteers and computer scientists, who are engaged in the transcription of printed or handwritten documents. In a research project, we are working on the extension of Transkribus for <i>Optical Music Recognition</i>. Please register via Conftool (already registered participants should send us an e-mail).</span></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:105%"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">6) If there is enough interest, we will organize a guided tour through the <i>State Hall</i> (<i>Prunksaal</i>) and the music collections of the <b>Austrian National Library</b> for the afternoon of the pre-conference day (Wednesday 29 May, 16 to 18 o'clock). The National Library preserves important autographs of composers working in Vienna, but also choir books and manuscripts with Gregorian chant.
