From a political perspective one might argue that MEI needs:<br>
- to spread the word, and awareness about its existence. Also and
this might prove a bit hard in non-scholarly circles. Tools might
help here ;-)<br>
<br>
- provide stability and backwards compatibility, or at least the
tools to do up-conversions. For archival purposes the long term
perspective is essential.This could mean:<br>
* to provide a (more) stable branch for MEI for certain
repertories (e.g. PVG [piano-voice-guitar])<br>
* to somehow define the current stability of certain modules,<br>
* provide a module specific tool reference (if you want to do this
or that use module X being supported by tools T, U, and V or the
like)<br>
* improve the guidelines, e.g. with descriptive use cases,
interlinking of sections, etc.<br>
* create a development plan, and not only communicate what has
been changed but what shall be changed in the future (best with
some approximated "deadlines")<br>

This was just a quick brainstorming, not too well thought of but
maybe worth the discussion ;-)<br>

Recently, a thread regarding long-term preservation of

MEI (the organization) can play a role in creating a
