Our speaker is Jan Kofro\u0148 - Associate Professor at Charles University, Prague, where he has been involved in teaching Formal Methods, for instance within their Dependable Systems MSc program.<span class="x_Apple-converted-space" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", serif, EmojiFont;"> </span>His
educational approach, presented early on at the International Conference on Teaching Formal Methods (TFM 2009), combines behavioural modelling, model checking, program analysis, and code verification. In that presentation, two major challenges for Formal Methods
education are identified: the declining mathematical preparedness of students and the shortage of accessible master's-level teaching materials for program verification. In addition to his direct teaching activities, Prof. Kofro\u0148 has been actively involved
in organising and leading communities and events in the field, for instance the Formal Engineering Approaches to Software Components and Architectures (FESCA) workshop, a long-standing workshop associated with ETAPS. This contributed to promoting the use of
formal techniques in software engineering and to supporting the education and development of early-career researchers. In his tutorial talk, he will present to us the current Formal Methods teaching approach at his university as well as several learnt lessons.</p>

"In my talk, I will describe some courses related to verification taught as a part of the CS curriculum at Charles University. In particular, I will describe two of them in more detail \u2013 a relatively new bachelor-level course \u201cProgram Semantics\u201d focused on
contract-based verification using PiVC and Dafny, and a master-level course on model checking and related topics called \u201cSystem Behaviour Models and Verification\u201d, which I have been teaching for almost twenty years. I will also discuss the grading, students'
feedback, and my experience with both courses. Last, but not least, I will try to extract some takeaways for the community."</p>
