They should be of<br>sufficient quality and relevance to the UMAP community and demonstrate<br>the ability to spur discussion and debate on the future course of the UMAP<br>research.<br><br>The presentations will be in the form of a 10 minute pitch in a plenary<br>conference session, just before a break. The presenters will present the topic<br>and raise relevant questions to stimulate discussion during the breaks.<br><br>Submissions should have a maximum length of 4 pages in the ACM SIG proceedings template.<br><br><br><b>SUBMISSION AND REVIEW PROCESS<br></b><br>Submissions must adhere to the ACM SIG Standard (SIGCONF) proceedings<br>template. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two<br>independent reviewers. They will be assessed based on their originality and<br>novelty, potential to stimulate discussion on important research questions,<br>potential contribution to UMAP research and practice, potential impact in<br>particular use cases, as well as their overall readability.<br><br>Papers that exceed the page limits (4 pages for TOR) or do not adhere to<br>the formatting guidelines will be returned without review.<br><br><br><b>IMPORTANT DATES<br></b><br> Submission of TOR papers: March 16th, 2019 <br> Notification of acceptance: April 5th, 2019<br> Camera-ready versions of accepted papers: April 15th, 2019 <br><br><u>Note:</u> The submissions times are 11:59 pm Anywhere on Earth.<br><br><br><b>PUBLICATION AND PRESENTATION<br></b><br>Accepted Theory, Opinion and Reflection papers will be published in the<br>ACM UMAP 2019 Adjunct Proceedings in the ACM Digital Library.
