Having modeling tools available for creating, editing and analyzing models is a central assumption made in these research areas, because without appropriate tooling support, model-based methods cannot be reasonably applied. Research prototypes of model editors are required for developing and evaluating new modeling methods and languages. To be able to efficiently apply and develop modeling techniques, it is thus desirable to methodically guide the development of modeling tools with regard to their specific characteristics, e. g., by aligning their design with the conceptualizations of modeling languages via meta-models, or by deriving required model editor functionality from high-level process specifications. The workshop "Methodical Development of Modeling Tools" focuses on procedures and architectural principles related to the creation of software for editing, presenting, transforming, or analyzing models. While there has been a growing body of results on the application of process analytics techniques in business processes, much remains to be done in fully realizing the potential of clinical process analytics. This workshop seeks to bring together clinicians and IT researchers to better understand how existing and new process analytics techniques might add value in the practice of medicine. The specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: Collecting and managing clinical process data, Clinical process data cleaning techniques, Data-driven insights into the design of clinical processes, Predictive analytics for clinical processes, Data-driven diagnostics for clinical processes, Exception handling in process execution, Clinical process variation management, Case studies. It allows deriving the Enterprise Architecture from the enterprise goals and strategy. Enterprise architecture aims (i) to understand the interactions and all kind of articulations between business and information technology, (ii) to define how to align business components and IT components, as well as business strategy and IT strategy, and more particularly (iii) to develop and support a common understanding and sharing of those purposes of interest. Enterprise architecture is used to map the enterprise goal and strategy to the enterprise's resources (actors, assets, IT supports) and to take into account the evolution of this mapping. It also provides documentation on the assignment of enterprise resources to the enterprise goals and strategy. There are different paradigms for creating enterprise architecture. The most important is to encapsulate the functionalities of IT resources as services. By this means, it is possible to clearly describe the contributions of IT both in terms of functionality and quality and to define a service-oriented enterprise architecture (SoEA). The goal of the workshop is to develop concepts and methods to assist the engineering and the management of service-oriented enterprise architectures and the software systems supporting them. Organizers: Selmin Nurcan, University Paris 1 Panth?on Sorbonne, France Rainer Schmidt, Aalen University, Aalen, Germany ------------------------------------------------------------ W4: EVL-BP - The 8th Int'l Workshop on Evolutionary Business Processes (EVL-BP'15) ------------------------------------------------------------ Web: http://evl-bp2015.unisa.edu.au The EVL-BP workshop series is devoted to evolution in business processes. Enterprises face the challenge of rapidly adapting to dynamic business environments. Evolving markets, policies, regulations, technologies, and business models are some of the many vectors of change along which enterprise systems must constantly align. The capability of rapidly adapting systems and processes to an ever-changing environment to leverage existing resources has become a crucial factor of an organization's agility. In a recent EDOC publication, Dam et al. pointed out the "need of techniques and tools that provide more effective automated support for change propagation within an Enterprise Architecture model". This workshop focuses on the business process part of an enterprise evolution, called evolutionary business processes. It fosters new approaches that address specific issues related to flexibility and adaptation of business processes such as design of easily adaptable processes, dynamic handling of unexpected situations, optimality of adaptations, or change management. The contemporary enterprise features the production, integration, analysis, and utilization of Big Data, which have the 4-V characteristics: volume, velocity, variety, and veracity. While the Big data hold the promise of revolutionizing our understanding and decision-making methods towards enter- prises and society, uncovering the value behind Big Data requires developing innovative decision making approaches, especially predictive approaches in various aspects, such as process configurations, resource allocations, scheduling optimizations, and collaboration patterns negotiation. Models and methods from multiple disciplines, such as data integration, data mining, statistics, business intelligence, and information systems apply to the topic. However, the impact of Big Data to business decision and corresponding analytic approaches remain an open issue. This workshop will offer a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange opinions, share experiences, advance ideas, report recent progress, and disseminate research results on the topics related to Data-driven and predictive business analytics. In the last few editions of FOCLASA, a special issue of Science of Computer Programming has been dedicated to this workshop. == INVITED TALK == * Mario Bravetti (http://www.cs.unibo.it/~bravetti/) Title: Towards Dynamic Updates in Service Composition Abstract: We survey our work on choreographies and behavioural contracts in multiparty interactions. In particular theories of behavioural contracts are presented which enable reasoning about correct service composition (contract compliance) and service substitutability (contract refinement preorder) under different assumptions concerning service communication: synchronous communication with patient non-preemptable or impatient invocations, or asynchronous communication. Correspondingly, relations concerning behavioural contracts and choreographic descriptions are considered, where a contract for each communicating party is, e.g., derived by projection. Contract refinement relations are induced as the maximal preoders which preserve contract compliance and global traces. The obtained preorders are then characterized in terms of a new form of testing, called compliance testing (where not only tests must succeed but also the system under test), and compared with classical preorders. Moreover, recent work about adaptable choreographies and behavioural contracts is presented, where the theory above is extended to update mechanisms allowing choreographies/contracts to be modified at run-time by internal (self-adaptation) or external intervention. == PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIRS == * Jose Proenca iMinds-Distrinet, KU Leuven, Belgium and HASLab/INESC TEC, University of Minho, Portugal jose.proenca at cs.kuleuven.be * Massimo Tivoli University of L'Aquila, L'Aquila, Italy massimo.tivoli at univaq.it == PUBLICITY CHAIR == * Alexander Perucci, University of L'Aquila, Italy == PROGRAM COMMITTEE == * Farhad Arbab, CWI, The Netherlands * Marco Autili, Univ. of L'Aquila, Italy * Luis Barbosa, Universidade do Minho, Portugal * Steffen Becker, University of Paderborn, Germany * Javier Camara, Carnegie Mellon University, USA * Carlos Canal, University of Mal?ga, Spain * Carlos Cuesta, Rey Juan Carlos University, Spain * David Garlan, Carnegie Mellon University, USA * Alfredo Goldmann, University of S?o Paulo, Brazil * Keijo Heljanko, Aalto University, Finland * Jean-Marie Jacquet, University of Namur, Belgium * Christian Krause, SAP Innovation Center, Germany * Sun Meng, Peking University, China * Liliana Pasquale, University of Limerick, Ireland * Jose Proenca, iMinds-Distrinet and HASLab/INESC TEC, KU Leuven, Belgium * Marjan Sirjani, Reykjavik University, Iceland * Carolyn Talcott, SRI International, USA * Massimo Tivoli, University of L'Aquila, Italy * Mirko Viroli, University of Bologna, Italy == STEERING COMMITTEE == * Farhad Arbab, CWI, The Netherlands * Antonio Brogi, University of Pisa, Italy * Carlos Canal, University of Mal?ga, Spain * Jean-Marie Jacquet, University of Namur, Belgium * Ernesto Pimentel, University of Mal?ga, Spain * Gwen Salaun, Grenoble INP - INRIA Grenoble - LIG, France From aali at ltu.edu Wed Jun 17 19:33:50 2015 From: aali at ltu.edu (Ahad Ali) Date: Wed, 17 Jun 2015 13:33:50 -0400 Subject: [fg-arc] 2016 IEOM Conference in Malaysia (IEEE Sponsored): Looking for Track Chairs Message-ID: <64d9bbbbd6f3427c9700505a7db43a98@ltu.edu> 2016 IEOM Conference in Malaysia (IEEE Sponsored): Looking for Track Chairs Dear Colleagues: The IEOM Society is continuing to organize the Sixth International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The former was mainly devoted to formal aspects of service-oriented and cloud computing. The latter addressed type languages and systems to specify, characterise, and reason about dynamic aspects of program execution. In both cases, the main working setting of the research area covered is that of component-based distributed and concurrent software systems, services and clouds, simply referable as large software systems. Behavioural systems may also refer to enterprise and business process modelling and management systems. These kind of systems share characteristics: they are distributed, collaborative, and communication-centred. Moreover, the compatibility of their components is crucial to ensure overall correctness and reliability. The aim of this event is to bring together researchers and practitioners in all aspects of large scale behavioural software systems and its applications, in order to share results, consolidate the community, and discover opportunities for new collaborations and future directions. Topics of either theoretical or applied interest include, but are not limited to: * Foundational aspects of large behavioural software systems * Specification, verification, analysis, and testing of large behavioural software systems * Language-based approaches to large behavioural software systems * Security, trust, QoS, dependability, and privacy in large behavioural software systems * Ontologies, standards and technologies for large behavioural software systems * Case-studies on formal methods in large behavioural software systems * Innovative application scenarios of large behavioural software systems SUBMISSION We solicit the submission of original and unpublished contributions not under review for publication elsewhere. Concurrent submissions to WS-FM/BEAT and FOCLASA (a CONCUR workshop - http://foclasa.lcc.uma.es/) are however, not only allowed, but in fact encouraged, for those papers that may potentially enhance both venues. Authors of such double submissions should identify them to the Program Chairs at the time of submission (by choosing the "Regular paper submitted also to FOCLASA? category in the EasyChair site). Reviews may be shared between WS-FM/BEAT and FOCLASA. Submissions accepted by WS-FM/BEAT will be considered automatically withdrawn from FOCLASA. Submissions may take two forms: full papers and short papers. - Full (regular) papers must be prepared in LaTeX using the LNCS-style format and they should not exceed 20 pages (typeset 11 points). All accepted papers will be included in the proceedings. - Short papers are concerned with work-in-progress or tool papers and they should not exceed 6 pages. Short papers might not be included in the proceedings (a selection is invited for the proceedings). All contributions will be evaluated by at least three reviewers, chosen by the Program Committee. Contributions should be submitted through the EasyChair online submission system in PDF format. Submission of a paper involves a firm commitment that at least one of the authors will attend and participate in the workshop in case the paper is accepted. PUBLICATION All accepted regular papers will be included in the proceedings, which will be published after the symposium as a volume of the LNCS series. Selected short papers will be invited to the proceedings. An open call for a special issue of a high-quality journal on the topics of the symposium is envisaged. Organizers: Jens Gulden, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany Jens von Pilgrim, NumberFour AG, Germany ------------------------------------------------------------ W2: HIS - 1st Int'l Workshop on Clinical Process Analytics (HIS'15) ------------------------------------------------------------ Web: http://www.dsl.uow.edu.au/workshops/index.php?l1=cpa15 Process analytics involves the use of rich data store to generate insights into the design, execution, resourcing and overall management of processes. Organizers: Guido Governatori, National ICT Australia Ltd (NICTA), Australia Jens Kolb, University of Ulm, Germany John Wondoh, University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia ------------------------------------------------------------ W5: DPBA - 1st Int'l Workshop on Data-Driven and Predictive Business Analytics (DPBA'15) ------------------------------------------------------------ Web: http://cs.adelaide.edu.au/~dpba2015/ The workshop aims at discussing the research and open issues related to the data-driven business analytic methodologies and techniques in the context of enterprise Big Data. Authors of such double submissions should identify them to the Program Chairs at the time of submission (by sending and email to the PC_Chairs of WS-FM/BEAT and FOCLASA). To address these challenges, model-driven engineering (MDE) advocates the elevation of models into the center of the development process. Models provide abstractions over the system to be developed, while also providing enough detail to automate the development of implementation artifacts and perform early software analysis. In this context, executable models become more and more important. They provide abstractions of a system's behavior and constitute the basis for performing early analyses of that behavior. The ability to analyze a system's behavior early in its development has the potential to turn executable models into important assets of a model-driven software development process. For instance, model animators and model debuggers aid in comprehending and exploring the modeled system's behavior, as well as in locating defects in models (e.g., locating defects in the system design). Other examples of model execution tools that provide analysis facilities include model checkers, model testing environments, and trace exploration tools. Despite the potential benefits of executable models, there are still many challenges to solve, such as the lack of maturity in the definition of and tooling for executable modeling languages, and the limited experience with executable modeling in much of the software development industry. EXE 2015 will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to discuss these challenges and propose potential solutions, as well as assessing and advancing the state-of-the-art in this area. Topics of interest for the workshop include but are not limited to the following: 1) Languages, techniques and methods for developing executable modeling languages, including considerations of quality aspects, reuse, specialization, composing, and evolution of executable modeling languages. 2) Techniques and methods for developing model execution tools, such as, model debuggers, model animators, and trace exploration tools, including automation techniques for developing model execution tools and techniques for reusing, specializing, extending, and composing executable modeling languages at the tool level. 3) Experiences in applying executable models and model execution tools for the development and operation of systems, as well as in developing and deploying executable modeling languages and model execution tools. --------------------------- Submissions --------------------------- We accept three types of submissions: 1) Research papers (up to 6 pages) presenting novel and innovative approaches in one of the topics of the workshop. We also strongly encourage the submission of comparative studies on existing approaches in one of the topics. 2) Experience reports (up to 6 pages) presenting experiences and lessons learned in one of the topics of the workshop. Experience reports should discuss knowledge gained from an executable modeling project experience and identify key challenges encountered. 3) Position papers (up to 2 pages) presenting new ideas or early research results in one of the topics of the workshop. All submissions should follow the IEEE formatting instructions: * LaTeX: Class file IEEEtran v1.8 available at http://cruise.eecs.uottawa.ca/models2015/resources/IEEEtran.cls * Word: Template available at http://cruise.eecs.uottawa.ca/models2015/resources/MSW_USltr_format.doc Please submit your paper electronically as PDF via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=exe2015 All submissions will be evaluated by at least three members of the program committee. Research papers and experience report papers will be evaluated concerning novelty, correctness, significance, readability, and alignment with the workshop call. Position papers will be evaluated primarily concerning validity and ability to generate discussion (even controversy), as well as alignment with the workshop call. Furthermore, all submissions must be original work and must not have been previously published or being under review elsewhere. For each accepted paper, at least one of the authors must register for the workshop, participate fully in the workshop, and present the paper at the workshop. A pre-workshop version of the accepted papers will be available on the workshop website and a post-workshop version will be published as CEUR workshop proceedings (http://ceur-ws.org). --------------------------- Important Dates --------------------------- Submission deadline: July 17th, 2015 Notification of acceptance: August 21st, 2015 Workshop: September 27th, 2015 --------------------------- Program --------------------------- EXE 2015 is a one-day workshop, divided into three parts: keynote, presentations of the accepted papers, and discussions in working groups. While good performance leads to high user satisfaction, weak response times lead to loss of users, perceived unavailability of the system, or unnecessarily high costs of network or compute resources. Therefore, various techniques to evaluate, control, and improve the performance of IT systems have been developed, ranging from online monitoring and benchmarking to modeling and prediction. Experience shows, that for system design or later optimization, such techniques need to be applied in smart combination. Therefore, the Symposium on Software Performance (SSP) brings together researchers and practitioners interested in all facets of software performance, ranging from modeling and prediction to monitoring and runtime management. It will be packed with sessions about the latest advances in performance-related research and also covers tools and experiences in the field of software performance. The symposium is organized by four already established research groups, namely Descartes, Kieker, Palladio, and Performance Management Group who will use this symposium also as a joint developer and community meeting. General topcis of interest: * Application performance management * Software performance patterns and anti?patterns * Thoughts and experiences on the influence of the software architecture on software performance * Extraction and calibration of performance models * Performance in virtualized environments * Performance in trade?off with other quality attributes, e.g., security or reliability * Model?driven approaches for instrumentation and analysis * Automatic approaches for performance problem detection, diagnosis, and resolution * Performance-related challenges in industrial software systems * Application of Descartes, Kieker, or Palladio in projects * Combined applications of Descartes, Kieker, and Palladio * Palladio used for the prediction of other quality properties beyond performance * Wish lists of tool features ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBMISSION GUIDELINES We solicit the following two types of submissions: technical papers maximum 3 pages) and extended abstracts for industry or experience talks (maximum 700 words). Technical papers should follow the standard ACM SIG proceedings format and need to be submitted electronically via EasyChair. Extended abstracts need to be submitted as "abstract only" submissions via EasyChair. Submitted papers can be research papers, position papers, case studies or experience reports including but not limited to approaches employing Descartes, Kieker, and/or Palladio. Note that we explicitly welcome contributions that have already been (partially) presented at other events or in publications. Presentations will be organized in sessions with 30-minute slots incl. discussion. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register, attend the conference and present the paper. Proceedings - Accepted technical papers will be published in the Softwaretechnik-Trends after the symposium. Extended abstracts will not be published. Registration is now open! Juli 2015 in Hamburg statt.
