The workshop will be held in conjunction with ISWC 2013 and will be a half-day event. We invite the submission of research results in the form of ontology design patterns (ODPs). Patterns submitted should have a general relevance to the ontology engineering field, or specific interest within a knowledge domain. Patterns should solve some particular modeling problem, and be of significant interest for discussion at the workshop. Patterns should be original, in the sense that they are the intellectual product of the author(s), however they may still be based on the collective experience of a community. ---- Pattern Topics ----- Ontology design pattern (ODP) submissions will be collected * by submitting a description of the pattern (pattern description) via https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wop2013 (select "WOP2013 Patterns Track?) * through the ODP portal [1]: templates for submission [2] are provided for the following types of patterns (see general typology [3] for explanation of the types): ** Content patterns ** Structural patterns: logical and architecture patterns. ** Correspondence patterns: re-engineering and alignment patterns. For other types of patterns, the author is welcome to submit only a pattern description. Detailed instructions for patterns submission, including how to submit via the ontologydesignpatterns.org portal, are found at the submission page [4]. Note that an account in the ODP portal is needed for submitting patterns; thus, authors should take care to request an account at least one week before their intended submission. ---- Process ----- Patterns are submitted through the ODP portal [1,2], and reviewed by at least two members of the ODP portal quality committee. Accepted patterns are to be improved based on the review comments, i.e. an update of the patterns in the ODP portal is mandatory. Accepted patterns are then presented as posters at the workshop, in a joint poster session with poster and demo papers. After the workshop, the patterns may be considered for certification in the ODP portal. ---- Best Pattern Award ---- Reviewers and workshop participants will together distinguish the best pattern submission, final decision to be made by the chairs. The best pattern award takes into account criteria such as the quality of the submission, the relevance and significance of the pattern, the presentation of the pattern, and the level of involvement of the author during the revision phase and poster session discussions during the workshop. ---- Important dates (2013, 11:59 Hawaii time) ---- * Submission deadline (research papers and patterns) - July 12th * Notification of acceptance (research papers and patterns) - August 9th * Camera ready deadline (research papers and pattern abstracts) - August 31st * Workshop date - October 21st or 22nd ---- WOP2013 Chairs ---- Papers ? According to Gartner, by 2016 more than 300 billion applications will be downloaded annually. The mobile domain presents new challenges to software engineering. Mobile platforms are rapidly changing, including diverse capabilities as GPS, sensors, and input modes. Applications must be omni-channel and work on all platforms. Activated on mobile platforms, modern applications must be elastic and scale on demand according to the hardware abilities. Applications often need to support and use third-party services. Therefore, during development, security and authorization processes for the dataflow must be applied. Bring your own device (BYOD) policies bring new security data leaks challenges. Developing such applications requires suitable practices and tools e.g., architecture techniques that relate to the complexity at hand; improved refactoring tools for hybrid applications using dynamic languages and polyglot development and applications; and testing techniques for applications that run on different devices. This workshop aims at establishing a community of researchers and practitioners to share their work and lead further research in the mobile development area. We solicit contributions related to mobile software development. Topics include, but are not limited to: - Mobile development environments and tools - Mobile testing - Agile development for mobile applications - Empirical studies and metrics - Maintenance and evolution - Mobile patterns, frameworks, and product lines - Mobile software refactoring, restructuring, and renovation - Mobile program transformation and optimization - Practice and experience reports - Management of mobile applications - Event processing for mobile - User experience of mobile applications - Hybrid versus native applications - Model-driven development for mobile - Application security - Mobile operating system and middleware security - Secure application development methodologies - Cloud support for mobile security - Static and dynamic analysis of mobile applications - Mobile optimization debugging techniques and tools - Research challenges in mobile software engineering We accept contributions of three types: 1. Research papers up to 8 pages that describe original work in the area of mobile software engineering. Since we wish to create a vibrant significant community, we will not have official proceedings thus accepted authors will be able to submit their work to other venues. 2. Short papers up to 4 pages of emerging ideas and on research in progress. 3. Extended abstracts up to 2 pages on in-practice experience. Your paper must conform to the ACM SIGPLAN Proceedings format ( http://www.sigplan.org/authorInformation.htm). A particular objective of FHIES is to explicitly include a focus on healthcare ICT applications in the developing world (in addition to systems used in the developed countries), since unique engineering challenges arise in that special setting. Because humans often play a pivotal role in the process of using such systems, theories from the human factors engineering community may need to be integrated with methods from the technology-oriented domains in order to create effective engineering methodologies for socio-technical systems in the healthcare domain. Previous FHIES symposia were held in 2011, in Mabalingwe ZA (with post-conference proceedings in Springer LNCS 7151), and in 2012, in Paris FR (with post-conference proceedings in Springer LNCS 7789). REGISTRATION Registration is now open for FHIES 2013. The early registration deadline and the hotel reservation deadline are both 6th August 2013: after that point, the registration fee rises, and the reserved hotel rooms are released. The symposium has grown to three days; in addition to three keynote speakers and 19 accepted submissions, there will be two panel discussions, and a full programme of social events. For more information, including a link to the registration site, please visit the conference webpage. CONFERENCE VENUE Istanbul is a city of unparalleled social and cultural richness. It is as fascinating and historical as it is dynamic and modern. Serving as the capital of two mighty empires for sixteen centuries, Eastern Roman (or Byzantine) and Ottoman, and set squarely between two continents, Istanbul has cultures and traditions that blend East with West and Mediterranean with Anatolian. Each civilization that has made Istanbul its home has left its mark in sublime and splendid ways, and the result a city that gives one the feeling of universal history at every step. Istanbul has always been a meeting place, a crosspoint and a destination. With the Ataturk Istanbul International Airport, getting to and from Istanbul has never been easier. With a capacity of far over 25 million travelers per year Istanbul is less than a three-hour flight from most European cities. Istanbul has a second airport located on the Asian side of the city, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, which is an important arrival point especially for low-cost airlines. Overall, Istanbul is served by more than 50 major airlines to hundreds of cities around the world. The goal of the SWESE workshop is to advance research on this this important area. We believe that the informal nature of the workshop, located at one of the major events in service-oriented computing, will lead to further exchange between practitioners and researchers working on issues related to Semantic Web Enabled Software and Service Engineering by providing a forum for discussing the major challenges of the area and the different approaches being taken to resolve them. ----------------------------------------------------------- Workshop Scope ----------------------------------------------------------- During the last five years, a number of successful attempts showed the advantages of Semantic Web technologies in software and service engineering including reusability and extensibility of data models, improvements in data quality and data integration, and discovery and automated execution of workflows. The scope of the SWESE workshop is to investigate any potential benefits of using Semantic Web knowledge representations (ontologies) and reasoning technologies in service engineering, management, organization and implementation. Topics of interest to the workshop include (but are not restricted to): * Visions for Semantic Web driven software and service engineering * Tools developed or being developed for software and service engineering using SW languages * Integration or application development projects combining software engineering techniques and Semantic Web tools or languages * Shortcomings with the Semantic Web with respect to software and service engineering * Visions for SW driven software modernization * Integration of model-driven architectures, programming languages and Semantic Web languages * Integration of formal methods and Semantic Web languages * Software specification and Semantic Web languages * Software versioning control and Semantic Web * Software debugging and Semantic Web * Ontologies for software engineering * Ontologies for service engineering and service specifications * Ontologies for requirement engineering * Ontologies for software guidance, traceability and maintenance * Ontologies for service composition * Component discovery and ontologies * Feature modelling and ontologies * Metamodel engineering * Ontology reasoning for service engineering and management * Semantic annotations in service engineering * Transitioning legacy applications to ontologies * Semantic-based intelligent assistance tools for software developers * Lessons learnt and outstanding challenges for the usage of semantic technologies in service engineering and management * Ontology-Driven Architecture: How to introduce Semantic Web technology into mainstream development processes * Ontologies for supporting collaboration/coordination between developers * Semantic-based information push for service engineering and management process * Methods and tools for semantic-based event-driven interaction in service development * Semantic Web based service marketplaces ----------------------------------------------------------- Submissions ----------------------------------------------------------- Papers must be in English and may be submitted by Easychair Conference Management System https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=swese2013 as * Full Papers (15 pages in the proceedings) * Short Papers (5-8 pages in the proceedings) * Position Statements (2 pages in the proceedings) * Posters (to be presented during the workshop, with 2 page descriptions submitted via the conference site for review) Papers must be submitted using the ?Lecture Notes in Computer Science? (LNCS) style (Word or LaTex). See http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html for style files and details. Submissions will be peer- reviewed by at least 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. ----------------------------------------------------------- Program Committee ----------------------------------------------------------- Uwe Assman (DE), Technical University of Dresden Colin Atkinson (DE), University of Mannheim Kenneth Baclawski (US), VIStology, Inc.
